Panther Techies is a student run group committed to bringing the power of technology and social media, not just to KIPP Gaston College Preparatory (KIPP GCP), but other public schools in under-served communities as well.

KIPP Gaston College Preparatory

Gaston College Preparatory (http://kippgaston.org) is a 5th – 12th grade open-enrollment charter school founded in rural Gaston, North Carolina in 2001.

It is part of KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program), a highly successful national network of charter schools serving traditionally under-served communities with the goal of not only sending all their students to college but ensuring they graduate from college as well. In fact, being accepted to a four-year college is a graduation requirement at KIPP GCP.

Last year, 100% of KIPP GCP’s first graduating class was accepted to four-year colleges or universities and, to date, has amassed over $2 million dollars in merit-based scholarship money. 80% of these graduates will be first generation college students.
